AEW Collision, 5-16-26

AEW Collision arrived at the Wicomico Civic Center on May 16 and the DelMarva crowd came in loud and ready. This part of the Mid Atlantic has always carried a special connection to the Briscoe legacy and you could feel that pride the moment Mark Briscoe stepped through the curtain. The reaction was instant and it never faded. It shaped the entire atmosphere of the night.

The opening trios eliminator set the pace with The Conglomeration taking on Shane Taylor Promotions. The match had a steady rhythm built on sharp tags and heavy strikes. Orange Cassidy kept his cool presence at the center of the action while Kyle O Reilly and Mark Briscoe pushed the tempo. Every time Briscoe hit the ropes the building came alive. The finish landed clean and the crowd stayed fully invested.

Willow Nightingale’s TBS Championship defense against Red Velvet brought a different energy. Willow always brings a warm presence to the ring but once the bell rings she turns that warmth into raw strength. Red Velvet came in determined and forced Willow to dig deeper than expected. The match climbed steadily until Willow powered through the final stretch and kept her title. It was a strong defense that showed why she remains one of the most reliable champions in the company.

The tag match that followed delivered the first real burst of chaos. The Opps brought a bruising style and Lethal Twist tried to counter with speed and timing. Jay Lethal and Lee Johnson had moments of momentum but Samoa Joe and Anthony Bowens controlled the match with a heavy hand. Joe’s offense drew some of the loudest reactions of the night and the finish felt decisive.

Divine Dominion stepped into the Five Minute Tag Team Championship Eliminator and made the most of their time. Allie Katch and Kaia McKenna fought with heart but Dominion’s precision carried the match. It was quick and clean and served its purpose.

The six man tag brought the most unpredictable stretch of the night. Mark Davis and The Dogs entered with a hungry presence and The Rascalz countered with their trademark creativity. The match swung back and forth with long sequences that kept the crowd reacting in waves. Davis and his partners eventually grounded the match and closed it out with authority. It added real weight to the middle of the card.

The main event between Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara for the AEW World Championship in a no countout setting delivered the wild intensity fans expect from both men. Darby threw himself into every moment with fearless commitment while Sammy matched him with sharp counters and bursts of aggression. The action spilled around ringside more than once and the crowd stayed loud through every risky landing. Darby’s final rally felt like a champion refusing to bend and when he secured the win the building erupted. It was a strong televised defense and a reminder of why Darby thrives when the rules fall away.

When the show wrapped the DelMarva crowd left buzzing. Collision delivered a full night of action and the presence of Mark Briscoe gave the event a sense of homegrown pride that only this region can provide. It was a lively night that showed how deeply wrestling runs through this part of the Mid Atlantic.
